Damaris Mutile | Lawyer


Damaris is a lawyer whose keen interest lies in Corporate and Commercial Practice, Alternative Dispute Resolution and Civil Litigation with a bias towards, commercial disputes, constitutional and human rights disputes, employment and labour relations disputes and environmental disputes.

As part of her legal training she joined TripleOKLaw Advocates LLP as a pupil where she received intensive in-house training in areas related to Corporate & Commercial Law, Alternative Dispute Resolution methods, Civil Litigation, Employment and Benefits Law as well as Real Estate & Conveyancing Law.

During this time, she gained a wealth of experience working on diverse matters across a broad range of sectors, including Banking, Telecom, Energy & Infrastructure Projects, Company Compliance and Regulation matters including Mergers and Acquisitions and Joint Ventures.

Notably, she was part of a team of legal advisors representing a prospective Power Generation Plant before the National Environmental Tribunal (NET) against a suit filed against its licence as granted by National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) to commence construction of the Plant for alleged environmental reasons.

As a huge proponent of Alternative Dispute Resolution methods, she has been involved in a number of high-profile advisory and arbitration briefs and she aims to shape her accent on commercial and investment treaty Arbitration and public interest Mediation.

Damaris obtained her Law degree- LLB (Hons.) from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, is a strategic manager of organizational conflict and is a Certified Professional Mediator with the Mediation Training Institute (MTI)

In the spirit of giving back to the community, Damaris is currently engaged as a student mentor at the M-Pesa Foundation Academy.
